The Kahola Falls is a very interesting area, with a great deal of photographic subject material. The area is actually the spillway of the Kahola Lake, and has several sets of falls relatively close to the spillway itself. The landscape here can change dramatically following the heavy rains in the Flint Hills, as the tremendous amount of water exits the lake. In fact, approximately a week after this photograph was made, a torrential rain occurred and the outflow from the lake nearly consumed the upper walkway that is shown here.
