I made this photograph during a private tour of the Tallgrass National Preserve. This high spot is well into the interior of the park, and is normally closed to the visitors. On this day it was partially cloudy, and the clouds produced interesting shadows on the prairie. I waited for a nice shadow to appear on the plains, and it happened to shade the herd of cattle grazing in the distance.
