From the proper angle you can see through the Campanile, creating an interesting silhouette. During the late autumn months the sun rises in the northeast; the correct location to capture it simultaneously with the silhouette. The sky was relatively clear with only a tiny veil of distant thin stratiform clouds. This type of clear sunrise creates the interesting color transion in the sky during sunrise. The reds, oranges and yellows near the sun at the horizon slowly fade toward the blues of the upper sky.
