Photographing architecture at night has the advantage of displaying the most accurate effect of the man-made lighting, both in terms of color and form. During this session I cursed the wind, wishing for a more still and mirror-like quality of the water. It was relentless, however, and I finally was forced to use it to my advantage. I chose the largest aperture that would give the required depth of field, which resulted in a multi-second exposure. This produces a softness in the reflection, as well as an interesting sense of motion in the flag.
