	The intricate woodwork and strong lines of the ranch house porch make for a classic black and white detail study. Being in close proximity to the column for perspective also has the unfortunate consequence of increasing the required depth of field to render everything in sharp focus. Even with the plane of focus along the porch, an aperture of f/45 was required. A Kodak #12 filter was used to darken the small patch of sky, and was successful in creating a nice contrast with the white house.
