I ventured into the wetlands during the mid-summer when the water plants were blooming. It was extremely hot, and to my surprise, after visiting almost every body of water in the wetlands, this was the only one that contained the flowers for which I was searching. To get as close to the plants as possible, I went into the water until it was only about half an inch shallower than the height of my boots. I was therefore standing very still, and I eventually even had to change lenses out in this precarious location. I used a wide angle lens to draw attention to the nearby flowers.
