To enhance the association of the historic Lawrence Depot with the thought of trains, I wanted to fill the image foreground with the elegant curvature and detail of the tracks. The sky was featureless, and served not to distract from the building and the tracks. The sun was pretty low in the morning sky, but was beginning to create the interesting specular reflections on the steel. To secure the required depth of field a relatively wide-angle lens was used, and the aperture was quite small. The optimum focus point in situations like this is usually only a few feet from the camera.
