Many of the rural roads of Kansas are cut through undeveloped wooded areas. With no electrical services present to necessitate the clearing of the trees, often a canopy of braches is formed. This provides a cool, shaded drive during the summer and an interesting tunnel view during the winter months. During the first snow of the season, I rounded a corner of a somewhat serpentine road and saw this niceimage of such a location. The wind was beginning to come up, as was the temperature, and the snow was falling from the branches. I set up my view camera and made this exposure as quickly as I could.
